We made one more trip to the zoo in December before our annual pass expired. The kids and I got a bit tired of the zoo, so this one last trip was a nice good bye.
We love group pictures with the many statues around the zoo.
We have had a zoo membership several different years, and this is probably the second time we have seen the kangaroos even standing up! This time, we saw one of them jumping around!
The kids love putting their head into these picture cut outs everywhere!
The eagle was more comfortable in his surroundings!
The standard goofy picture.
We were excited to see the alligator snapping turtle.
Check out these teeth!
Kyle made it to the top of the rock climbing wall!
Aren't the flamingos beautiful?!

Park Hopping: Zoo Atlanta
Now before you say that Zoo Atlanta isn't a park, let me explain. Our family has the Family Adventure pass to the zoo. That means at the 6th month visit, we get free ride passes for any zoo visits for the rest of the year! As we and the Presley's were getting ride passes this month, we decided to make a day of it and just do all the activities.
First the kids played on the playground while I fed Patrick. They love the 4 way see-saw.
Then we headed to the merry-go-round and the train.
Next the kids ran to the splash pad! I am not sure, but I think they love a good splash pad more than a swimming pool!
This is my favorite picture from the splash pad, too bad it is of my sister's daughter, and not mine!
Mercy was finished. Doesn't she look cute when she is soaking wet?!
When the kids had enough of playing in the water, we ate lunch at the tables near the splash pad. After the kids had devoured all the food, they decided it was time for the canopy climber and the rock climbing wall.
Sophia doesn't weigh enough to rock climb, so she had a great time climbing the canopy climber and sliding down over and over again.
Avalyn and Kyle climbed together.
Keira took a turn at rock climbing after trying the canopy climber.
Mercy was too little for both the canopy climber and the rock climbing, so she entertained herself with the fencing around the climbers!
The zoo made a great destination park day. The kids had a wonderful time doing many things that they don't normally get to do.

Project 365: week 24
I am really pleased with this week. In fact, there were several days that I had a hard time deciding on which picture/subject to choose! That means that I am getting out the camera more often and capturing more of our lives and getting some cute shots along the way.
Sunday: Sophia brought me some gardenia flowers. Oh, did they smell amazing!
Monday: At the zoo, I managed to get a self-portrait while on the merry-go-round.
Tuesday: Often this is my perspective of Kyle's violin while he plays for me.
Wednesday: We had a last minute house guest, and due to the circumstances, her husband sent her flowers to our house. They were beautiful!
Thursday: We had steak, hamburgers, potatoes, and salad for dinner. I love the potato medley, as the colors are so vivid!
Friday: We finally got out a wind chime I bought while on vacation last year. I love the colors!
Saturday: While "hiking" at the Jones Bridge Unit of the CRNRA, we came across playing cards hung in the trees with notes written on them. We concluded that it was an elaborate marriage proposal.

We love Zoo Atlanta
We love Zoo Atlanta, and having a pass means we go a lot! Just a month after Patrick was born, he took his first trip to the zoo with his siblings and cousins.
This is the only picture that I have of Patrick's first trip to the zoo! (Yes, he is the sixth child.)
Megan posted this trip under her park hopping series. Check it out.

Project 365: Week 21
Over the next several days, I will post my Priject 365 weekly posts from the weeks that I missed while recovering from having Patrick. In the mean time here is the current week. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to take pictures every day moving forward! This is for May 17th through May 23. Maybe now I will stay caught up.

Zoo Atlanta during Spring Break
I must be crazy! I decided to take 5 kids to the zoo 4 days before my baby is due during spring break. In my defense, we are a part of a zoo program where if we go at least once a month, the kids get stamps in a passport and earn prizes. This month (month 4), they earned a t-shirt. I didn't want them to have to wait until next month to get their stamp. Also we just don't know when this baby will make his entrance into the world and when I will be ready to go to the zoo again.
Anyway, fast forward through the bad wreck that caused us to be to about 30 minutes later to the zoo than we had planned, and past circling all the residential streets around the zoo parking lot in hopes of finding street parking close enough that I could walk to the zoo (with about 30 or more other cars), and past the massive lines of people. We managed to get our passports stamped, t-shirts for all the kids, and walk through the new reptile house before heading home again.

Spring is Here!
I am really enjoying seeing all the flowers in bloom! God is so creative to make such pretty things blossom after a bare winter.
(All put the first picture were taken at Zoo Atlanta.)
