Project 365: Week 9

Wow!  Nine weeks!  I haven't done the best of jobs taking pictures everyday, but I am getting into the mindset of picking up my camera every day.  Next month (starting tomorrow), I am thinking of trying a one object 30 day challenge.  We will see how that goes!  Adrian also wants to try a photo a day project, so he intends to start that tomorrow.

February 22: Mercy Dressed for Church

February 23: Studying

February 24: Proof we got snow!

February 25: A Girl and Her Robot

Even though I was planning for another snow picture, Avalyn finally got to use her robots that she worked so hard to earn up to buy.  So her she is happily programming Dash.

February 26: Covington

Again, I actually managed to get a couple pictures of the kids playing in the
"snow" with Adrian.  But this was one of my favorite pictures of the day.  I took it after visiting my midwife in Covington.

February 27: Ready to Ride

I took Keira to her Therapeutic riding lesson for the first time in what seems like forever.  I enjoyed watching my little girl guide "her" big horse around the arena.  This was just before she mounted to ride.

February 28: At the Zoo

Adrian helped some friends move, so I took the kids to the zoo.  With my hands and eyes occupied with 5 kids, I didn't have much time for taking pictures.  I did manage to capture a couple of really good bird pictures.

And look at that!  I actually took a picture every day!  Maybe I'll manage that again next week.  We will just have to wait to see.

Playing Mom and Kid

Sophia's and Keira's favorite game right now is "Mom and Kid".  One of them is "mom", the other is "kid", and they try to recruit me in as "grandmother"!

Picture of a Budding Photographer

Adrian was taking a couple of pictures.  Kyle wanted to get in on the act and take a couple as well.  When he finished he asked if he could take a picture of Adrian taking a picture of him.

Kyle Hurt His Neck

About two weeks ago, Kyle seems to have slept wrong and hurt his neck.  He couldn't move his neck to the right or up or down without pain.  So he ended up spending much of several days laying on a ice pack on the floor.  Fortunately, the chiropractor was able to help, but it took about 5 days to fully heal!

Project 365: Week 8

I don't think I struggled as much to take pictures this week as I have other weeks.  That isn't to say that I took a picture every day, but that taking out the camera randomly came much more naturally this week.

Feb. 15: The Lord's Day resulted in no pictures.

Feb. 16: Class at the Library

I love their excitement over making their creation work!

Feb. 17: Ice in the trees

This is about all the ice and snow we got in the "storm" on Monday.  I was disappointed not to get to see any ice lower in the trees, but very thankful that we kept our power.  We had several friends who were out of power for many hours and had much worse ice just miles north or east of us.

Feb. 18: No reason, but I missed

Feb. 19: Ice on the trees

Just a couple miles north of our house, the ice was still on the trees on Thursday, after freezing on Monday!  I got a couple of nice shots of the sun reflecting of the ice.

Feb. 20: Just because

I do see how many more pictures I take of this little girl, but she just so sparkly, it is hard to resist trying to capture that!

Feb. 21: Playing Games

The kids played Settlers of Catan: Knights and Cities with Adrian while I worked on Cinnamon rolls and LEGOs.

After School

I would love to get some new candid portraits of the kids.  I tried a bit while the kids played with their friends after school last week.

Mercy Loves Blueberry Sauce

We served biscuits with blueberry sauce for breakfast before church.  That was not the best idea since Mercy needed a bath before she could be dressed to go!

LEGO WeDo

The county library system had a class for LEGO WeDo class.  We signed Avalyn up for it and her cousin joined her.  They had a great time building and programming!

Waiting for the class to start.

Working together to build their first creation.

Programming their lion.

The kids' lion.

Avalyn was very excited when they got the lion to sit up!

Programming their alligator.

Cute little alligator!

Week 7: Project 365

So this one is a couple of days late.  As I decided not to worry about the challenge, I just took pictures of what was going on around us.

February 7: View from my usual spot (props to anyone who can guess what I am watching).

February 8: How to blow your nose 101 (I couldn't stop laughing at this!  Adrian said we needed to add this to the list of things you never thought you would do as before you became a parent.)

February 9: Missed

February 10: Sophia

February 11: Mixing up some pizza crusts

February 12: Mercy wanted to put some "eyes" on.

February 13: I made Moroccan Soup, and had to mix the spices together first.  I love the layers!

February 14: We cleaned up all the LEGOs that had been hanging out in the dining room for months.  I took pictures of some of the kids creations before we took them apart.  I made this little guy many years ago!

Week 6: 365 Project

So this post is quite a bit late.  I got a little discouraged with my pictures and just the trouble I was having actually picking up my camera to take pictures!  Hopefully I'll get over it and keep moving forward.

So for Jan 31: I didn't take any pictures as it was the Lord's Day.

On Feb. 1, I decided to start a new photo challenge.  I found it on pinterest years ago!  It is from Amanda Braswell.  Here it is.  I didn't feel like the list fit what kind of pictures I try to take or what I really want to do.  After trying it for only a couple of days, I didn't look at it again.

February 1: A street

It was raining and this was as close to our street as I could get without getting wet!

February 2: A stranger

How about a stranger's car?!

February 3: Lunch

Making toastadas for my kids is quite the task!

February 4: Light
I missed this day and this is where I started not really following the challenge any more.

February 5: Dark

I love these little hands!

February 6: Texture
Another miss.

Concentration

Mercy loves to use a "bim" to draw on "paypa".  She was so intent on her work, that I had to take a moment to capture it!

January Photo Extras

Adrian and I have had a lot of fun using our new camera a lot this past month.  We have taken more pictures than we had in a long time.  Here are some favorite moments from January.

Mercy has decided that she likes to watch "Shaun the Sheep".  I try to use it as an occasional special snuggle time before bed.  She gets so excited and dances to the music and the asks for "one more"!

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing my kids read to each other!

Mercy had a lot of fun trying to stand on her head.  This was the best picture, even though the white balance is off.  Maybe one day I will look into editing this kind of picture, but not today! :)

All the kids wanted to feel the baby moving.  As this little guy seems to never stop moving, it makes it easy for them to feel him.
